josephine's lighthouse
Quite the tale goes into this aging fixture. The builder of this lighthouse was quite in love with a young woman who had become stranded on the island after a ship wreck. As he nursed her to health, she nursed him lonely soul. However, his mind mistook her affection for love and even professed to her at one point of this idea. Taken aback, she told him that she didn't and couldn't stay. Angry, ashamed and so obsessed, he expressed his emotions through rage and chased her up the long steps of the lighthouse, one step behind her. And when they got to the top, with no where left to turn, he took her life on the railing overlooking the sea. Not having much work done to it lately, the stairs creak and squeak with each step, and the lukewarm air swirls at the hint of a breeze, touching faces like the gentle fingers of a young woman. Whispers and cries and screeches, it's the perfect romantic spot.
