[atrb=border,0,true][cs=6][bg=121212] NO, THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE—AN EMPTY HOLE WHERE YOUR HEART USED TO BEAT? DOES THIS MEAN WHAT I THINK IT MEANS? JUST HOW COULD BOTH YOU AND ME BE ABOUT AS DEAD AS WE COULD BE, YEAH, WITH NO HEARTBEAT...?- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
NAME,
odile devereux, pronounced oh-deel dev-rer. the only thing she'll readily answer to other than her first name or surname is 'dolce', pronounced dol-chey, namely because it appeals to her love for music. many of her friends and fellow gang members call her by this nickname. unfortunately, while 'dolce' is a music term that explicitly instructs the musician to play sweetly and softly, at heart, odile herself is far from sweet.
AGE,
odile is currently nineteen-years-old, and she was born on the twentieth of february.
GENDER,
if you haven't noticed it yet, odile is a female, thank you very much.
SEXUALITY,
ultimately, odile is bisexual, but she has a slight preference for females. that isn't to say that she doesn't like males, though. sometimes, when the situation calls for it, she may feign heterosexuality, especially in the face of the close-minded.
AFFILIATION,
to be honest, given her experiences, odile absolutely despises gangs in general. however, self-preservation has led her to side with the holics, given that she has the brains to fit in with the rest of the members in it. originally, she also considered joining the anti-holics given her physical prowess, but ultimately, a coin-flip made the decision for her. odile actually has no loyalty whatsoever to her gang as a whole, to be honest. at heart, she believes that, when given the chance, any group within the gang will stab her in the back. she does trust certain, select individuals—just not large quantities of people.
REASON,
a series of events eventually led odile to become a compulsive, psychopathic serial killer at a relatively young age. odile's sadism and guilty love for inflicting pain on others spurred her on to commit numerous heinous murders. in contrast to most serial killers, odile employed diverse methods to kill her victims, all with varying amounts of pain. some were killed by dismemberment, decapitation, poison, bullet, or simple stabbing. her victims tended to simply...vanish. out of thin air. if their corpses were ever found, they were always revoltingly gruesome. most suffered immensely or were tortured before they ultimately died via bloodloss.
to odile, blood was and still is beautiful; understandably, she sought out ways of spilling the most blood possible before letting the victim die. her most vile ways of killing people included the use of extravagant medieval torture weapons (such as but not limited to the iron maiden, one of her all-time favorites) and burning or burying people alive. ironically, odile loves guns and uses them whenever possible, but inwardly laments their overly efficient way of killing people. to be honest, however, she can be an extremist, given how whimsical she can be. there were days when she let people bleed out slowly, just to watch the process, and there were also days when she simply killed swiftly and efficiently. regardless of her killing method, odile often collected strands of hair from her victims. the more beautiful the hair, the more she collected. sometimes, she compulsively cut off the entire head and took it as a trophy—mostly from her prettier female victims, though she did take several male heads before, demonstrating her fine appreciation for them as well.
as for how she actually ended up solemnitas city, to put it bluntly, odile was ratted out by a benefactor. there was a man she grew to genuinely like to an extent; he was the one who helped her get her torture devices off the black market, and he often helped her cover her tracks. however, she succumbed to her compulsive desire to kill him, even though it was against her will, and made an attempt on his life. she managed to torture him for several hours before he escaped. in the end, he threw the cops a clue, embittered and traumatized by the experience. like dogs, the police followed it insistently, eventually tracing the hint to odile and arresting her. even though she knew she had it coming, she nonetheless felt enraged by her accomplice's treachery. there was immense debate about giving her the death penalty in the courtroom; most people were completely for it, but the fact that she was female gave them some doubts. before they could finally come to a decision, doctor alabaster grew interested in her case and used his connections to get her shipped to solemnitas city. now, odile stays in this hellhole and does what she can to stave off her boredom and, more importantly, stay alive. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

HOBBIES,
- people-watching. to be honest, odile has a strange fascination with watching what other people do. she could stare at someone while they're eating and somehow find it interesting.
- playing the piano. it's her favorite instrument, and she loves the sound of it. she's pretty damn good at it, too.
- playing video games. she doesn't seem like the type, but she actually loves playing video games. odile has a tendency to hog the television whenever she has an opportunity to game.
- watching anime and reading manga. odile is actually an avid fan of both. any series that has really pretty artwork tends to attract her like a moth to flame.
- playing with other people's hair. hair is so much prettier when its owner is alive to maintain its beauty, after all, even though this doesn't stop her from killing people anyway. of course, she usually asks permission first before touching someone's hair. one of the easiest ways of getting onto odile's good side is by having nice hair and letting her play with it. she tends to be especially attracted to soft, silky hair. length doesn't matter, so long as it's pretty. actually, to be honest, sometimes she plays with hair from the heads she's collected, too.
- experimenting. in other words, find new, interesting ways of torturing people. it's a guilty pleasure of hers, but she does it anyway, in spite of the guilt she occasionally feels. ultimately, odile tends to end up employing old, favored methods, though.
- napping. every girl needs her beauty sleep, right? especially odile, who finds it difficult to sleep for extended periods of time. she's often up at odd hours of the night and asleep during random moments of the day. her sleeping habits are, admittedly, extremely off and atypical.
- brushing her hair. unsurprisingly, this ties in with her keen obsession with hair.
- listening to music. self-explanatory.
HABITS,
- odile has a strange tendency to collect strands of hair from the 'pretty' people she has killed. the prettier, the more hair she collects. if she finds a particular victim's hair (and face) especially pretty, she may just behead them and take their entire head for her collection. it's a nasty habit, but something that she compulsively does out of lack of self-control.
- it's not uncommon to hear odile humming, especially when a silence falls. she often does this unconsciously. the tune ranges from being downright annoying or creepy to being distinctly melodic and peaceful.
- playing with her hair. given her creepy obsession with hair in general, it's only understandable that odile has a habit of playing with her own hair. it's like her equivalent of nail-biting.
- smiling. it can range from sweet and peaceful to creepy and downright frightening. odile doesn't always realize when she's smiling—she just does it.
- whenever she examines her surroundings, she automatically ends up looking at red things. it's the first color that attracts her attention. which means that if there's a bloodstain, odile's the first to notice.
- washing her hands repeatedly and taking frequent showers. odile despises the feeling of dirtiness.
- odile sometimes has counterphobic inclinations. in other words, she purposely seeks out her fears to conquer them. this usually applies only to minor fears; she wouldn't dare, for instance, place herself in a situation where she could potentially get raped, namely because it's one of her greater fears. most of the time, this habit is more counterproductive than it is effective. consequently, she often only succeeds in scaring herself instead of eradicating her fears. conversely, years of having this habit has allowed odile to glean some benefits—for instance, she's hardly one to freeze up and lose her cool when faced with threatening or frightening situations anymore.
SECRETS,
- the point that she was almost raped once. as well as the point that she watched her sister get gang-raped. the two things were enough to traumatize her, and they were the main reason she snapped and turned into a compulsive serial killer.
- the fact that she has a sister. she guards her sister's name like a dog. if people think of besmirching the memory of her sister with their dirty lips, they better think again. the only one worthy of knowing about odette is odile, and odile only. in her eyes, at least.
- there was one particularly heinous murder for which she was responsible. admittedly, she tortured the person with her usual methods, but rather than let them bleed out, she ended up becoming curious about the human body and tried performing an autopsy on the still-living subject. given that odile is practically clueless when it comes to surgical matters, suffice to say, the victim died a very painful, horrible death. when odile dies, it's safe to say that she's going straight to hell for the things she has done in the past.
PERSONAL ITEMS,
- two elegant, black hair ties lined with white lace. they used to belong to her sister, odette, but odile now has them in her possession as a reminder of her deceased sister. prior to owning the hair ties, odile used to deliberately wear her hair down to look different from her older counterpart, but now she often wears it in two pigtails, just to make herself seem a little more similar to her dead sister.
- a compact handheld game console. she has a small collection of games to play on it when she's bored.
- reserved.
WEAPONS,
- a pair of handguns. odile keeps them with her when she knows she's proceeding into dangerous situations. surprisingly, in spite of her delicate appearance, she knows how to wield them well. to be honest, she prefers rifles to simple handguns, but it's difficult to carry those around without drawing attention. her extensive familiarity with guns makes her an accomplished sharpshooter, and she often uses this fact to her advantage.
- a switchblade. being the paranoid type, odile almost always keeps it hidden somewhere on her person. it can range from being hidden in her boot to being strapped to her limbs. it was specially made to have a slightly longer blade than most switchblades. she often relies on it during close-quarters combat, but in the event that she's disarmed, odile will resort to hand-to-hand combat or even her handguns.

NATIONALITY,
even though she doesn't speak her native language much, odile is french, and she can understand it with ease. nonetheless, she normally opts to speak in english, given that it's the most universally known language.
FAMILY,
ANTOINETTE DEVEREUX — mother, deceased ADRIEN DEVEREUX — father, deceased ODETTE DEVEREUX — sister, deceased
HISTORY,
- odile is born to two semi-wealthy parents, with a sister two years her senior.
- during her childhood, odile grows especially close to their father, and her sister, odette, grows especially close to their mother. odile and odette both have tutoring lessons and learn the typical things that wealthy children learn. however, in addition to those things, they each also become well-acquainted with the job of the respective parent they are attached to. odette learns about feminine duties, business, and management from their mother, a businesswoman who often works at home. on the flipside, odile learns about weaponry and military-related matters from their father, a former high-ranked military captain. naturally, their mother favors the feminine, graceful odette, and their father favors the boyish, quick-thinking odile. overall, odette proves to be more likable than odile and easily becomes the popular one when they're introduced to family friends and acquaintances. odile begins resenting her sister for getting all the attention from essentially everyone.
- tragedy strikes when their father dies because of a terminal illness. without his income, their mother is forced to work harder. she goes on business trips frequently and odile and odette rarely see her anymore. when they do, the woman is busy screaming at and abusing them because of the bitterness she feels from her husband's death. eventually, their mother begins indulging in alcohol abuse and loses her job. they lose their wealth and fall into poverty while their mother wastes what little money they do happen to have on more drugs and alcohol.
- over time, both sisters gradually become bored and sick of their lives and gradually begin to think life is dull and grim. this self-destructive train of thought continues until they are both depressed and in their early teens. however, they eventually confide in each other and become surprised that they both share a mutual sense of horrific boredom. they grow extremely close, and odile loses her dislike for her sister.
- eventually, after coping with their harsh lives for a while, they grow fed up with being abused by their mother and start devising an escape plan in which they run away and survive on the streets. it doesn't work very well. being that they're too young to be accepted for jobs, they do what they can to scrounge up food and find shelter. they eventually settle into a deserted apartment, but are eventually kicked out for squatting.
- out of desperation, they end up joining a street gang to survive. to gain admittance, they are both forced to endure several days of harsh hazing. nonetheless, they survive and manage to do surprisingly well in the gang because they work together nicely with their contrasting talents and personalities.
- several months later, the gang they joined turns on them and betrays them. odile is subdued and watches as her sister is brutally gang-raped and tortured over the course of a week by several of the other members, both male and female. odile enters a near vegetative state to try blocking out the sights and sounds, but ultimately becomes traumatized and suffers horrible mental trauma. after her sister finally bleeds out completely on the seventh day, the rapists come after odile next and torture her. she finally snaps and loses it right before the first person manages to force himself inside her.
- after snapping, odile manages to overpower him and gouges out his eyes with her bare hands and nails. she then finally manages to wrestle a gun from one of the other gang members while they are still in shock and shoots several of them in the heads. the others who betrayed her and her sister flee. odile spends some time at the scene in shock, but soon recovers. instead of developing posttraumatic stress disorder, she becomes sadistic and psychopathic and basically loses a portion of her sanity.
- odile decides that the blood crusting on her nails and around her looks morbidly gorgeous. she promises her dead sister's corpse that she'll track down the rest, kill them, and come back to get her.
- she succeeds in tracking them down.
- after tracking them down, odile single-handedly manages to subdue them and kill them all after very slow, clumsy, inexperienced torture. after realizing what she has done, she locks herself in an empty, dysfunctional building downtown and spends the night screaming out her lungs where no one can hear her. she then promises herself and odette that she will never, ever do the same thing her tormentors did to odette. ever.
- of course, she compulsively ends up tracking down the entire gang she used to be in and killing everyone. even though she feels guilty about it and doesn't want to.
- on the streets, she runs into her mother, who has apparently developed into a productive, wealthy member of society again. she becomes appalled by odile's dirty, blood-stained, injured state and takes her to the hospital. after odile recovers, her mother tries to be a good mother again. odile has a home again, but her sister is gone. this is unacceptable.
- naturally, odile goes back to get her sister's dead, rotting corpse. because the entire incident with their gang occurred in a deserted part of the city that was rarely frequented by the police, all the corpses are still where she left them. she succeeds in finding odette and brings her home. she then hides the body in a deserted wing of the house. after some thought, she cuts off her sister's head and cleans up the dead face and hair. it's at this moment that she becomes fascinated with 'pretty' hair and heads.
- odile manages to hide the truth of what happened from her mother and convinces the woman that everything was just the result of an accident. her mother realizes that there's definitely something wrong but refrains from prodding.
- after some time, odile feels a compulsive urge to kill. she tries to suppress it, but fails miserably. she ends up killing her mother and hiding all evidence. with no other family, she is shipped off to a nearby city to live with relatives. now that she's beyond the point of no return, odile can't control herself anymore and becomes a serial killer. she hides all of her tracks and manages to escape the police while pretending to be an upstanding member of society. when people ask about her dead immediate family, she feeds them a tragic story. everyone buys her act.
- over time, she fashions herself into a deadly, versatile killer who becomes very physically capable. much torture, bloodshed, and murder ensue, even though odile promised her dead sister she would never stoop to such a level. then again, promises are meant to be broken. she collects hair and heads from her prettier victims and begins building up a collection in the deserted wing of her home. gradually, odile also becomes more and more like how her sister used to be before she died and picks up old habits from the deceased girl. hence, she loses her boyishness and becomes more feminine.
- at the age of eighteen, odile encounters julian dupont, a young man about her age. he stumbles upon her while she is killing someone and becomes fascinated with her methods. he eventually becomes an accomplice of sorts and helps her attain her necessary tools and devices.
- after some time, odile becomes infatuated with julian, but her compulsive desire to kill eventually leads her to make an attempt on his life. she manages to torture him for several hours before he escapes and, traumatized, gives the police information about her. she is apprehended by the police and taken to court.
- people contemplate on giving her the death penalty but hesitate because she is female. nonetheless, her heinous crimes lead everyone to favor execution because she murdered at least fifty different people. before they can really come to a decision, however, doctor alabaster catches word of her case and uses his connections to get her into his project.
- odile is shipped to solemnitas city and now spends her life there.
EXTRA INFO,
odile is has a very...perplexing, contradicting personality, so to speak. she'll feel guilty after hurting someone, but she'll still commit the misdeed again compulsively. the extent of her hypocrisy can be seen in her goals and personal preferences. odile wants to stop collecting heads from her victims, but at the same time, she wants to amass the greatest collection ever seen. it's impossible to complete both; if she achieves one, the other is practically unreachable. also, odile despises betrayal, but she herself isn't afraid of betraying others. hence, many of her ideals and statements clash with one another, making her a very hypocritical person. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
