THE SUBTLE GRACE OF GRAVITY, THE HEAVY WEIGHT OF STONE - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - NAME, even the young boy himself has no clue on what his real name could be, being a recent victim of amnesia. his employer, the good doctor alabaster, had baptized him with a new name, one that he is addressed to this day. that name is vitiate magnus. strangely enough, most people prefer to call him with his make-up last name, though for good reason - ' great ' seems like a better name to use rather than ' vice '. vitiate himself had no idea what was the doctor thinking when he named him as such, but soon it stuck, and changing it would just complicate things for the poor teen. AGE, it was anyone's guess, although it was quite obvious that vitiate was but an adolescent. nevertheless he has labeled himself as seventeen years old, with his birthday being new year's ever, the first day he could ever remember. nobody in the city, of course, really cared if he was legal for... some things, but vitiate prefers to abstain from them at the moment. many, though, thinks that vitiate should have chosen an older age, due to his [ usually ] mature and rational way of thinking. GENDER, even if you put vitiate in a dress or some other feminine article, you can't hide the fact that he's male. he might be lacking something in the muscular department, but that doesn't exclude him from somewhat rough features, either. SEXUALITY, vitiate never really cared about gender when it comes to love - what's the difference? despite being aloof most of the time, he is actually capable of romance, and has even claimed himself to be pansexual. then again, he never really experienced love before [ or did he? he can't remember... ] so he really wasn't so sure what to feel regarding the topic. AFFILIATION, a part of the gang war, you say? dear me, no! he's actually a city worker, part of the doctor's security force. while he does not harbor any hard feelings regarding the gangs, he will not hesitate to kill while under duty - it's his job, and it's for the good of all. while on his free time, however, he actually interacts with the patients [ or is criminal a better word? ] and even makes friends with some of them. some, of course, would use it to their advantage and try to manipulate poor young vitiate, but unfortunately, that's not going to work - most of the time, that is. REASON, surprisingly, vitiate was actually supposed to be one of the many patients this unusual asylum holds - he was diagnosed with a severe case of borderline personality disorder, although he wasn't the same as others victims of the syndrome. rather than inflicting harm on himself, he prefers to inflict harm on others in the form of cruel, brutal rage. the degrees of intensity gradually increased in time, and eventually the workers of solemnitas turned his eyes on him. capturing vitiate was a struggle, one that dealt severe injuries to the boy, and in turn causing his amnesia. the doctors decided that it would be a waste to just let him go after all the trouble, and so gave him a new identity and a job in the asylum. while vitiate no longer has shows any violent case of insanity, milder forms of his symptoms still occur. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - + POSITIVE,

[/color][/color] even through the most dire of situations and the most frantic of events, vitiate remains composed and calm, and so is rather able access most situations and deal with them accordingly. it is a trait required for survival in solemnitas, when things can get chaotic and out of hand. this is where vitiate must keep his cool and find the correct decision for all of them, event if it meant sacrifices. it can be harsh yes, but necessary - he wouldn't be alive if he didn't do it.

• with his usual silent demeanor and usually good judgment, vitiate makes a a good listener, capable of knowing when to speak in case someone comes gushing out their feelings to him. he's not really that great at giving advice, thanks to his own issues at life, but at least he's someone one can feel comfortable being with, and someone who can promise to keep secrets. he is far from being a doormat, however - all he can do is to hear what you have to say, and probably say a few words in return.

• solemnitas is hardly your ordinary run-of-the-mill city, and usual beliefs have no real place here. this is where vitiate has learned to be open-minded in many things, considering that there is no black or white in the hellhole he's in - there are only dark shades of grey. there are, of course, things he cannot tolerate - in fact, most of his values clash those with the rest of the residents. nevertheless, he respects them, and tries not to force his own opinions on other people. that doesn't stop him from intervening on some of their uncontrollable actions, however.

• despite first impressions,vitiate does possess one quality rare to this city - he is caring. regardless of how demented he might seem to be - and, thank goodness, he's hardly insane compared to the rest - he still has good intentions in the end. he might as well be an anti-hero, as he still wishes for the best in everyone. thing is, the world is no fairy tale, and idealism would get vitiate nowhere to saving anyone or himself. yet he remains kind to anyone he's not against, in hopes of seeing something humane in this place.

• it's quite hard to trust or rely anyone, especially in the middle of a gang war. thankfully, vitiate is very much independent, even capable of surviving for a few days, even without the help of his co-workers. he has learned all of the basic survival skills ever since he set foot in solemnitas, and has mastered it to the extent that he could actually survive being stranded on a deserted island! solemnitas is hardly a place devoid of people, but it still remains to be very much dangerous, thus calling for the young boy's need to have such a trait.[/ul][/size][/blockquote]

- NEGATIVE,

[/color] vitiate is not only a perfectionist towards himself, but towards others as well. doing something half-baked is utterly unacceptable in his eyes - why do it in the first place when you don't put your all into it? his strict belief in such a principle spreads to other parts of his negative aspects, most especially when he himself fails to achieve the very standard he lays down. it's a mystery why he continues to have such a trait when it hurts him so much - maybe it's because of his pride.

• despite his good intentions, the young boy still remains brutal to his enemies. he prefers to talk and hang around while off duty, but when something awry happens, he immediately switches to a cold killing machine. the doctors have brainwashed him to be ruthless when it comes to dispatching lives - it's almost like an instinct now, to kill any patient that steps out of the line. but, at least, showing no mercy would prove easier for all of them, as long as vitiate could withstand the emotional aftermath.

• vitiate's greatest flaw stems from his very past - his low self-esteem. all in all, vitiate's actions have only one motive - to please people. he has an insatiable need for praise, and unfortunately the compliments he have already been given seem to be just a drop in the bucket that he wants. it is because he takes more notice in his flaws and mistakes, thereby dwindling his confidence further. in a way, he can be dependent to others - he can survive alone, yes, but he cannot live alone. someone needs to be there who can actually prove his worth.
